Can I count for a dad? My son lost his dad when he was 15. How many moms have to give the "if you can't say no, I'll go to the pharmacy for you" lecture to their son and his girlfriend. You should have seen my son's face. Picture was worth a million dollars.

Dad's are special people. Some are better than others but still special. Even though you might think your dad was a total A**, there was something he gave you besides the obvious - life.

I lost my Dad to cancer was I was nine. My Mom remarried to a "recently retired" Marine Staff Seargent. He was one scary mother. My sister and I use to hide from him. Slowly we came around and, slowly, he became part of the family - steppin up and raising 8 children who were not his own. He was awesome to my Mother until her death in 1994 and now lives in Florida with his girlfriend. I am happy he has someone and I want to thank him for being an awesome Dad!! So, to all the Dad's (step or not) Happy Father's Day!!

My father and I never really got along when I was younger I mean it was not a fun time, but after my fathers heartattack in 92, I was devastated, and I could not imagine my life if I did not do something about our relationship, he was a hard nosed Marine man and he took no crap and I think that is why I rebelled.. Well now things are great and I tell him everyday how much even back then even though I hid it well I love him so very much and I know he was just trying to do what was best for me.... I love him so much and he was and is a GREAT DAD.... And the funny thing is, you know what they say girls always marry a man like their father it is sooooooo true because my husband is a hard nosed Navy man and he is exactly like my father!! I love you Dad, and I want to also say to my hubby, you are a great father and I love you too.. Happy Fathers Day!!!
