Good for you. Have been smokeless for nearly 10 years. Believe me, you will notice a big difference in about a month. Food tastes better and you don't wake up in the morning with yuk mouth and feeling like you have a hangover.
I chewed gum and ate hard candy. Course you gotta watch the eating. LOL!!!

this is very true about the eating.
I know i quit for 9 yrs and it seemed like all i wanted to do was eat.
Because I was so used to moving my hands.
The bad part is for me, after those 9 yrs, i had a lot of stress going at once, and started smoking again.

I just started reading a great book called: THE EASY WAY TO STOP SMOKING by Allen Carr. It is the "thinking man/womens" way to go. I know of several long time, hard core smokers who quit and swear by this book. I've only read a few chapters but I can tell it is going to be so much more effective than anything I've ever tried and I've tried to quit a lot of times in 44 years of smoking. Please check it out, I know it may sound too good to be true but I really believe I can quit now by following the book and you don't have to quit smoking while you read it..in fact, the book tells you that you must keep smoking.
The Easy Way method:
You will not need willpower
You will not gain weight
You will not feel deprived
You will need no gimmicks, shocks, or substitutes
It simply changes your attitude about why you smoke and why you can quit in a positive, non-judgemental way.
Scimitars2, I wish you luck and hope you and anyone else who wants to quit will try the book. I don't think you will be disappointed.

That is great scimtars!!
I wish you the best of luck!!
Remember it only has to be 1 day at a time, or 1 hour at a time if necessary. If you quit for a while and then something happens and you take a few puffs, don't give up!!! That doesn't mean you have to go back to smoking, it just means you made a mistake. It doesn't have to ruin how far you have already gotten!! You have become a non smoker. Mistakes don't have to take you back to being a smoker!!
I am sorry for the lecture, but I have had to quit a few addictions and I know how very hard it is. If you ever need help, this is the place!!

Wtg!!! Be strong and firm! I also quit about two months ago and believe
me, it has been like hell!!! I was having many problems with my teenage daughter and my healt issue not to mention that I just got an car accident. Well, let me tell ya, I GAIN 35 pounds, pure, fat meat to my body!!!
I don't think that I ate so much to deserve it but with many pills and stress without smoking really did to me. But I still have to say that I am glad that I quit...didn't do it for my kids or hubby but for myself!!!
