Don't get me started!!! We live in a pretty urban area - and I am always surprised at the amount of trash that is thrown out of car doors or on the ground by children - potatoe chip bags, McDonald's bags, candy rappers, you name it. THE TRASH CAN AND RECYCLE BINS ARE 10 FEET AWAY!!
What is wrong with people? Teach your children to have respect for themselves and respect for their planet. Most everything in your house can be recycled - old computers, clothes, all plastics, aluminum, glass, etc., and don't forget the new flourescent bulbs - wow - what a difference. But they do contain mercury, so take them to a recycling depot instead of throwing them in the trash!!
Its disturbing, with all the education we have on our environment, global warming, greenhouse gases, let alone, the high cost of fuels (that it takes to make those plastic bottles we all drink our fufu water from) that some people have no idea, or the care, to recycle.
I am not preaching, Lord knows I could do better, too, but my goodness, this behavior is unexceptable.
I, too, am chomping at the bit to get my garden in. I grow sweetheart roses. They are so beautiful.
Thanks for the post TDTAT - sorry to ramble.

Ok well I feel like an idiot!! I thought earth day was the 21st turns out the last 15 years that I have celebrated my Anniversary it has been on Earth Day. LOL
I have teenagers and two in elementary and I teach them all the time about keeping it clean so thier kids can enjoy the rivers lakes streams etc..They are like the trash police with thier friends it is too funny.
Happy Anniversary to me and Happy Earth Day to ya'll
