This is so hard because they are all so beautiful! I have noticed a flower garden at our local Elks club. The daisies catch my eye everyday and also the bold yellow tiger lillies. I'll have to go with the tiger lillies, I guess. thanks nln.

Hi all.
In the part of Florida where I live in mid to late August if the weather has been right and it has rained enough, there is a wild tiger lilly that blooms in on ditch banks.
This is the most gorgeous flower (and one very special to my heart) that I have ever seen. Even though the stems are rather short and it only stands up in water after it is picked for a day or two, the color of the petals is amazingly bronze with the golden "eyes" sprinkling their iradescent hue from deep within. The stamens are also golden giving them a most luxuriant look.
My oh my. I can't wait to ride the roads about a month from now, not to pick them, just to look and enjoy! Unfortunately, they only bloom for about two weeks and the timing of my journeys will have to be perfect!
Wish me luck!
