Maybe I am really stupid, but I can't figure out a way to deposit money into my ECO card account. When I try, I am directed to choose one of the banks on the list. The only bank that is on the list is Fortis Bank, in Belgium. I emailed Fortis bank about opening an account there, but was informed that I am suppossed to live there to have an account. I live in the USA.

Like I said, I must be stupid because I must be missing something!!

Does anyone else have a problem? Does anybody know what I can do??

Western Union - from my experience, has been the quickest, most efficient and
hassle-free way to fund my 'eco' card account.
I posted directions somewhere (I cannot find.....?), here in the forum.

The 'Fortis' bank option, is to send by "money transfer" or "wire"...
I think something like that anyway.
And that takes more than a few days.

Moneygram takes a long time also.

*One more thing to add....
I have used Western Union on different days and different hours of the day.
Everytime, my money has been credited within at least an hour.
It hasn't mattered what day or what hour of the day.

You pay a little more for "Money in minutes", but it's FAST!
Of course, you don't have to send that way.
The other way is like a day, I think.

Hope this helps a little...

voodookitty, Here it is smile

Thanks voodookitty!! smile

This is directions for how to fund
ECO CARD online from Western Union
www.ecocard.com www.westernunion.com

voodookitty:

First you'll need to log into eco card to get receivers details.
You can do this by selecting "Money Deposits".
Scroll the deposit option to "Western Union".
You can choose for the receiver's details to be emailed and/or displayed.
I usually do both.

Second you'll need to create an account online with Western Union.

After doing so, choose the "send money" option.
I think that there will be 2 or 3 differerent ways to send money.

I have only used "Money in Minutes", which the cost is a little more,
but it is a "for sure" way to fund without any problem.

Select "Money in Minutes".
The important part of completing this form:
- make sure to READ carefully!
- check the appropriate 'currency'
there will be an option for currency conversion, probably already selected, which you will need to de-select.
- you'll need to fund, using a Bank Card (debit/checkcard) "Verified by Visa"

The first time, you may need to contact them to complete the order.
They only just verified my name and address.
You will receive an email confirmation in any case.

After the transaction is complete and you have received you confirmation...
Log back into Eco Card website and select "Deposit Confirmation"
You'll need to complete this form.

Under reference # is where you will want to enter the MCTN. (money control number)
Under "Recipient Name & Location", put the name and location where you sent the money.
example : tierra sando - manila, philippines

It usually only takes about 30 minutes before eco card contacts you, telling you that your account was credited.
It is very quick.
I know it has some sort of time chart, saying that if you deposit at such and such time, your deposit
will credit at this or that time.
But I have used it on a weekend, in the day and night..... and was credited within 30 minutes or so.
It's really easier than you could imagine

If I were you I wouldn't try to fund ECO card online through Western Union. I tried doing it and was refused transaction because it did not meet their safety and security standards. Same with Moneygram. But can go to Walmart for Moneygram or somewhere that does Western Union and fund it in person. I think it is because you have to send the money to a person usually in a central american country. Also, make sure and send your money in dollars not pesos. Hope this helps also.

smileops: But, on the other hand.......

I haven't had any problems whatsoever, on anyday or anytime.

In fact, the high price that I am willing to pay for "Money in Minutes" -
smile it is definately worth it!
I say this, because of the ease and speed of the service.

Sorry, smileops: annimac.
Don't get me wrong......
I can understand your frusteration from your experience

Hey, Kitty! I understand your point, however, it happened to me with both Western Union "Money in Minutes" and with Moneygram. So for me, going to the store is the way to go. Maybe I just type like a terrorist. LOL! But even with going to the store to make deposit, it still works great.

Everyone have a blessed day!! smile

How do I know this is not a Spoof email?

Spoof or 'phishing' emails tend to have generic greetings such as "Dear EcoCard member". Emails from EcoCard will always address you by your first and last name.
