Here in Florida it is a refreshing chance to cool off before the sweltering days of summer. I was born and raised in Florida and really enjoy the cooler days and nights.
The first time I saw snow was in Buffalo New York, I had just gotten married in Fl and went to live there with my husbands folks in Oct. We were all playing cards when my father in law said it was snowing out. I was only 18 , LOL I thought it made noise on the roof like rain does. My in laws got a good laugh at that. They also told me to shuffle my feet in the snow because of the "snow snakes" . Yep I believed that too! I do miss the snow here in Fl. Rejoicing in the cool weather coming this week!

Cold Winter
The Indians asked their Chief in Autumn if the Winter was going to be cold or not.
Not really knowing an answer, the chief replies that the Winter was going to be cold and that the members of the village were to collect wood to be prepared.
Being a good leader, he then went to the next phone booth and called the National Weather Service and asked, "Is this winter to be cold?"
The man on the phone responded, "This Winter is going to be quite cold indeed."
So the Chief went back to speed up his people to collect even more wood to be prepared. A week later he called the National Weather Service again, "Is it going to be a very cold winter?"
"Yes", the man replied, "it's going to be a very cold Winter."
So the Chief goes back to his people and orders them to go and find every scrap of wood they can find. Two weeks later he calls the National Weather Service again: "Are you absolutely sure that the
Winter is going to be very cold?"
"Absolutely," the man replies, "the Indians are collecting wood like crazy!"

Winter here in Minnesota can be very cold. This year we have been relatively mild. Although, this weekend here we have windchills with 25-40 below zero. BRRRRRRRRRR!!!

We have been getting alot of snow here in reno which is a good thing and our mountains have been getting hammered.. i like it when it snows besides when it snows just a little enough that i have to shovel the drive way in front and back because there is not enough to use a snow blower to do it. if we leave it and keep driving over ot .. it just gets real icy and takes for ever to melt. thank you for contest. i tried posting picture but it would not work i will try again later.

We actually got over 3 ft. of new snow last week in Big Bear, CA and some of the locals took time to celebrate !!!
