My favorite Christmas tradition currently (or the next time all the kids are in the same place again) is the same as Lucy0909's. But my most favorite as a child was going to Gramma and Grampa M's. Every year Gramma bought each of us grandchildren a huge box full of clothes, hats, mittens, slippers...what have you...clean underwear! This happened until the year after I got married (I was the oldest grandchild) and my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.

Happy Festivus!
Since a good amount of my friends and I live quite far away from our families, we can't always make it 'home' for the holidays. About ten years ago, I thought it would be comical if I put up a Festivus pole, and invited a few of my friends over for a home-cooked holiday meal, and of course a few drinks. After getting our grub on and ample time to suck down a few cocktails.....I dimmed the lights down and a radiant glow brought all attention to the Festivus pole (simply, a few strategically placed colored flood lights). Everyone stopped talking and just stood there gazing at the pole in silence(which alone, was quite hilarious). That is, until a thunderous beat suddenly started pouring from speakers......and the two strippers I hired convened at the Festivus pole.....and thus, the tradition was born! Let's just say, that every Dec. 23rd since, my home as become increasingly popular!

we have a treasure chest ornament that opens and closes, and every year I have me, my husband and the kids make a wish (secretly) into it and then close the lid to lock the wishes up.

My favorite holiday tradition is the old worn out shirt my mom got from my granny (my dad's mom) years ago. They never got along and the shirt was very ugly. We used to tease her about it, so when my dad and her divorced, one year, she decided to wrap it and give it to me as a gag gift. So the next year, I wrapped it and gave it back to her. Now we take turns wrapping it and giving it back and fourth. it's turned out to be a big deal at our family Christmas.

My favorite thing about Christmas is being included in my daughter's family enough that I am still expected to be there in the morning when her family opens their gifts are opened.
