Please pray for my husband

Thank you all so much; it is a beautiful thing when tragedy brings out the best in all good souls. Brownie points into heaven have been earned by all who responded, I know. Again, thank you all.

Thank all of you! I'd like to add that we found out that this started when he had been hit in the eye in a fight, 35 years ago, when he was still in his bad-boy stage of life. More importantly, this could have been prevented with a simple glaucoma screening; going to get an eye exam from an optometrist does not find it.

So, I beg you all to have this simple test done, so none of you will find out years from now that you have glaucoma and could have prevented it.

My friend is an optometrist and said that most should check behind the eye for this problem... if your husband had regular eye doctor visits and this was never found, I hope you are not using the same doctor at this point. It is a good idea to ask specifically for the glaucoma screening, and a good doctor should be doing that from what I hear. Now if you are just going to get your vision checked at the "eye glass hut" or whatever, they will not check behind the eye or do the "pressure check" for other diseases. There are many serious eye problems that require screening, so I hope everyone will get real checks for these diseases. Just reading the vision chart is not going to do it.

Loni, you would be surprised how warm alot of people are here. It's funny, as I read the posts, it is all the same little family of people that will always respond in someone's time of need.
