Harry_SIN, WOW!!! Some great things! smile

I adore vietnamese food... it my my favorite. Pho & bun... mmmmmm

TDTAT, i agree Vietnamese food is probably the best in the world (i have been lucky to try foods on all 6 continents so far in my life)

However, soupwise nothing beats a good Thai Tom Yam Kung soup, best one for me in Sukhumvit Soi 7, Bangkok, Thailand... small restaurant with just 6 tables called La Mer.

here some other samples of great asian food smile

TDTAT, you are very welcome to join in smile

I was born in comunistic Romania where we were never allowed to travel outside the Eastern bloc. At the age of 8 i read the book "Gulliver's Travels - Around the world in 80 days" and from that day on i promised myself that one day i will travel the world and see every country on this planet before i die... i am close to 100 now and still have more than 100 to see.... so plenty of travels left if you want to join smile

Best Days to Fly for a Long Weekend-
Taking two days off work? You'll find cheaper fares and greater seat availability if you fly on a Saturday and return on a Tuesday, instead of going from Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday. An article from The Wendy Perrin Report.

gonecamping2, I would bet money you would love some vietnamese beef with rice. smile The flavors are not so different from what you are used to. I have taken all my relatives to my favorite vietnamese restaurant and never had one say they did not love it, and they are traditional american food eaters for the most part. Even the picky kids like it! smile

By the way: we stole pasta and pizza from the italians, so you do like international cuisine! smile

TDTAT LOL smile ..... sorry, although born in Romania, i am not a Romanian. I am part of a small minority of Germans (about 250,000), called Transylvanian Saxons. As the name suggests we lived in the part of Romania called Transylvania, which given to Romania only in 1918 after World War I. Before that we were part of Austria-Hungary and further back the "old Germany". Actually, i was born just 20 miles away from the place which is today known to have been "Dracula's Castle".

It certainly worked out well to be a German as my family was allowed to emigrate to Germany in 1984, which in turn allowed me to start fullfilling my dream smile

I hope this does not put you off falling in love smile

Hubby and I just got back from a 10 day trip to visit his Mom in Tenn.
We drove so we could stay overnight on the way in casinos. Vicksburg Mississippi was half way between home and our destination. My tip is to stay at casinos if you can. Most of them give you a discount if you get a players card. We stayed for $ 45.00 a night at Diamond Jacks, it was a great room with all the amenities. Also casinos ususally have a great buffet for a good price. We are both seniors (over 50)so we got the $ 9.99 buffet for $ 6.95. We stayed an extra night in Vicksburg at Rainbow Casino but Diamond Jacks was better.

Also we borrowed my daughters Garmin GPS system for the trip. It was terrific ! I will never take another trip without one.
