I am thinking of ordering a netspend card, to have other options when depositing online. Is there a fee to order one, and have it. I don't want to be committed to a card I may never use. I was thinking of ordering one just to have in case I decide I would like to load it someday. Thanks!

mistye81, Hi. The cards do charge a fee to load them. You do not have to pay until you actually decide to use it I think.
You can check and make sure at the netspend site. www.netspend.com

There is a $5 code here that will offset the first load fee:

If you reload it by lets say Mailgram or Western Union it's $4.50 if you do it at a gas station that handles Netspent it's $1.96 (at least here in MN) It seems to me you had to deposit a certain amount the first time you load it but I can't remember for sure. Their websit tells you where the nearest place to get the temp card (They send the "real" one via mail) and the nearest re-load center by putting in your zip code.
