Being a drummer in a rock n roll band back in my younger days i have always listened to music differently from a non musician person. all the things that are put together to make the song, and have always appreciated great talent in music. This woman may not have the looks but her voice trumps all that and the audience showed us that. I give her a YES also smile

Heres something also, a youth orchestra and chior playing with the band STYX. Something they will always remember, great stuff.

Ha ha, I already viewed THAT one, at least 35 times in 2 days. Sent it to my mom and she was blown away.

I have watched her "I dreamed a dream" video oh about 5 to 6 times a day.

I still get all choked up with that! I'm rootin' for her and even if she doesn't win the BGT she has won me over!

With all the "run of the mill" singers out there these days one just sounds like another to me. This woman truly has one of the prettiest voices I have ever heard, I wish her well. I'm sure some one will give her a recording contract no matter the outcome of the show. Brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. That should teach us not to judge a book by it's cover...........

Unfortunately, very unfortunately, we seem to be programmed with
the love for beauty.. even a little baby will look longer
at an attractive face as opposed to an "unattractive" one, studies have found.

This must be programmed in our DNA for some reason..
Just like the female birds go to the male with the prettiest feathers...

the internet is buzzing with talk of susan boyle. i had no idea who they were talking about until last night. my boyfriends mother sent me an email with a link to the video. OMG does that woman have a voice of an angel or what. put tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms. then right after i saw the video i was flipping through channels on my tv and there she was doing an interview with larry king live on cnn news. i was totally amazed at how sheltered of a life she lived, and for the past i forgot how many years she took care of her ailing mother. her mother passed away a couple of weeks ago, and right before she died she told susan to go tryout, to take that chance as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and she told susan she would win the hearts of everyone listening. and looks like her mother was right. i must say i was very disappointed with the audience and simon powell with their reactions to her looks. looks mean nothing to me, i have seen some very beautiful people that were not very nice people, and some not so beatiful people that were the nicest people i had ever met. it is a shame society judges us by our looks and the way we dress. i have always believed that God is the only one who has the right to judge, not us.

I hope we're a little smarter than the birds or we're in trouble!

I could make several hilarious responses about that smile

But I will say instead it is not about being smart. What we learn
and what we are born programmed with are different.

Babies/humans/animals/whales/ect are programmed to do some things
before they learn anything.. smile an example is how to eat.

call it instinct or nature or genes or whatever..

That is why we felt so suprised about Susan.. we can learn though..
I am not saying we are stuck being inthralled with beauty.
