No but he is a poker player and I consider that one of us!!

I hate to discuss politics here, but I will share my best election moment
from last night.
As a tv camera panned a crowd, one hand made sign struck me:
"George Bush- YOU'RE FIRED"

I have to say this - though I am a die-hard liberal - I think this "vision" of our country, no longer divided, no longer living through our flaws and horrific mistakes during the civil rights movement - is great testiment of where we are headed as a people. I believe the new philosophy that we are not "red" or "blue", "democrat" or "republican" but "The United States of America" will carry tremendous weight in the way the world views us after the mistakes we have made these last 8 years. This wasn't just Barack's win - this was a huge win for the american people. WE VOTED -- WE MADE THE DIFFERENCE -- ALL OF US......every first timer, every black, every elderly person, every disabled person....who said "I am going to vote...and did" and realized that "our" vote, did indeed matter. I am in awe.
I am in awe of what we can do when push comes to shove. I am in awe of the racial lines that no longer divide us but unite us. I am in awe that participation was first and foremost and that the consciousness of the american people far outweighed the old stigma that only the rich and powerful rule this nation.
"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that america is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dreams of our founders is alive in our time, that still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer." Barack Obama

I was happy with the results of this election!!
I think it was also VERY impressed with the voter numbers..Did you see how many "young" people voted? These are the people that will be running our country in a few years. Many, many new voters. I think we made a good choice! Now to wait and see what happens in the next 4 years...

I'm thrilled about Obama and optimistic about our future. He seems to be able to inspire hope in so many people and that's what our country needs most right now. Hope for a better tomorrow...because todays economy is frightening. He has a tough road ahead but if the people are behind him and patient enough to give him time to fix the mess Bush has created we may be able to get back to the economic security Clinton gave us.
Maybe we will even get our freedom to gamble online back too...we can always hope !
