MGM temporarily closing Las Vegas properties March 17, 2020

MGM Resorts are temporarily closing Las Vegas properties starting March 17th, 2020 and they are not taking advanced reservations before May 1st, 2020.

MGM Resorts: Aria, Bellagio, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, New York New York, Park MGM, Vdara

WYNN RESORTS TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE WYNN LAS VEGAS - Wynn Resorts has decided to temporarily close Wynn Las Vegas and Encore as part of its continuing effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The Company has committed to pay all full-time Wynn and Encore employees during the closure.

Update April 3rd, 2020
"Las Vegas Sands Corp., Wynn Resorts Ltd. and Caesars Entertainment Corp. have announced that they are extending the closures of their Las Vegas properties through the end of April. This comes after an announcement from Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak on Wednesday, when he extended the previously mandated closure of schools, casinos and all nonessential businesses an additional two weeks to at least April 30, 2020"

wow i wonder if the Casinos here in Detroit are closing/closed

I'm on an old email list for the seminole casinos and they were talking about extra cleaning on all surfaces yesterday. I guess each of the smaller casinos and groups of casinos will make their own decisions. Also outbreaks in the area would probably make them more inclined to close.

Hmmm i wonder if Reno is to follow by closing it's casino doors. As of now they are still opened. That is awesome that they are still going to pay there employees. Kudos to them. smile

The Seminole casinos sent out free room offer emails today through April 30th so I guess they are not closing right now.
