HELP!!!!!! I signed into Netspend today and it said there was a problem with my account and that I needed to call. When I did I was told that my account has been linked to online gambling (ya' think), and that if it continues they will close my account.

All these years and all the 1.00 per transaction fees I've been paying. Well, go figure, about 2-3 weeks ago I changed it to the 9.95 monthly fee.

Hmm, I smell a rat, LOL

So what is everyone else using these days????

I got the same thing when I signed on - I called - same story, gambling, blah blah, closing my acct if it continues, blah, blah blah...

Been using it ever since.

If they were serious about it, they'de just shut you down, end of story....well... that's my view point, anyway.

Tawnia, where do you purchase these prepaid visa's you speak of?

Thanks

Rae

Well first, thanks TDTAT for that info, and a big thanks to you Rae. The more I think about it, it doesn't matter if they close my account if I can't use it to play, because that is all I use it for!!!!!!

How long ago did they "threaten" you???? LOL

Checked my account but no notice yet although I have used the card once in awhile to order other things online, perhaps that throws them off a bit? Thanks for the heads up RGALP sure I'll be getting one sooner or later!

I get them at CVS or Walgreens, but someone mentioned they buy them elsewhere... I can't remember the place. Maybe if you look online it will show retailers. smile

You have to make sure to get the ones that say for international use (usally small print on the back).

Hi RGALP - probably 2-3 weeks ago - all my transactions have been for "play". I would take a guess at about 20 transactions, since.

The thing that gets me, and I agree with you, they have taken the fees for loading and the fees for usage, knowing all this time (7 years) where our money is being spent, and NOW they piss and moan about it? If their rules and regs were so strict, like PayPal and others who forbid gaming usage, they would have closed 90% of the accounts down by now. It sounds like their making "an attempt" at apeasing someone.

IF US government agencies oversee Netspend(s) policies, as with banks, credit unions, etc., AND if Netspend were legally obligated to release their checks and balances OR be forced to release private info on where their rmembers are using their cards, it seems to me that Netspend would be out of business already. THAT'S MY TAKE ON IT...LOL

Thanks TDTAT - I will head to walgreens -- just in case.

rae, Well they have been sending emails like this a long time... sometimes they don't follow through and sometimes they do. Maybe it's to cover their own tail.
