The first thing is to always read the bonus rules for each casino before you play.

Each free chip bonus has different rules. There is always a wagering requirements (also called playthrough), a maximum cashout rule and game restrictions on free chips. Those 3 things vary from casino to casino, so read the bonus terms before you start to play. Most free chips are for slots only.

An example of a typical free chip would be a $10 free chip with $100 maximum cashout, 20x the bonus wagering requirement, and for play on slots only.

Also, sometimes the amount of the free chip is not withdrawable.
