March 28, 2010. Busy Swiss Casino Robbed by Armed Gunmen
The BBC is reporting a daring armed robbery of the Grand Casino in Basel, Switzerland. The French-speaking gunmen, reportedly armed with machine guns, made off with "hundreds of thousands" of swiss francs. No one was seriously injured, although "several shots" were fired.
Basel, Switzerland is close to the French and German border. The robbers allegedly escaped in "silver Audis with French licence plates" across the border into France via the Flughafenstrasse (airport road).
