Cooking all day long on Christmas Eve the things for Christmas Brunch/Dinner that we can prepare ahead. Then we sit down around the Christmas Tree and each person gets to open one gift. For the younger members of the family, this is torture selecting just one gift to open.
Merry Christmas to All!
Cora with all your recipes I can not imagine how fabulous your Christmas food will be!

We never really had a tradition (especially now, since we're all adults), but we used to go to each other house to have a feast and open prezzies. We haven't done that in years!

AFTER EVERY THANKSGVING FEAST WE WOULD ALL LOAD UP ALL EIGHT AND HEAD THE JULIAN A MOUNTAIN TOWN IN SAN DIEGO. WE WOULD HIT THE FAMOUSE APPLE CIDERMILL AND ALL THE OTHER OLD SHOPS BUT MOST IMPORTANT WE WOULD ROAM ACRES OF CHRISMASTREES IN THE GROUND FIND THE ONE WE WANTED AND TAGGED IT. 2 WEEKS LATER WE WOULD RETURN TO PICK UP OUR LIVE DUG UP TREE TO GO HOME DECORATE AND WHEN THE FLURRY OF THE SEASON WAS DONE WE PLANTED THE TREES IN OUR YARDS FOREVER MORE. WHY WASTE A GOOD LIVING TREE?

My large (I have 10 siblings) family usually get together on Christmas Eve for food and presents for the children. Most of my family don't want to see me, so I do them a favor and stay home. It works out OK though because I am very, very uncomfortable around them. So, here I am, comfortable at home.
In the morning, there will be gift giving by the tree with the family that I live with, which includes 3 young grandchildren.
That is the tradition that I look forward to.
