Well, I just read every single post in this topic and enjoyed it! Everyone seems to have a good spirit about the season, and from what I read, this season brings out exactly what it should in people - a desire to be with your loved ones and celebrate that love. Sometimes that comes in the form of sadness or grief as you remember those who have passed. Just know that simply missing them when the holiday season is upon us means so much...it means you truly loved and cared about that person and you want them with you during the most blessed season of the year.
But, don't be sad. Your loved one is no doubt looking down on you, smiling and missing you, too. Still, he or she would want you to celebrate the season as it is meant to be celebrated by basking in the spirit of the season. Hold your friends and family who are still with you even closer this year, and smile up at those who have passed on and are looking down on you.
Enjoy the season! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I love this time of year the most . Because people treat each other with alot more respect and are alot more friendly and caring toward one another. The way we should be all year long.I live about 70 mi. from LA. And around here , people aren't so nice, most of the time . Don't get me wrong it's not like most people think, from TV. But people just don't respect one another the way they should. I don't know what it's like other places. But i know i would be hard pressed to find someone holding a door or giving up a seat, maybe taking a card to a distant neighbor, who you don't know , but see around. I don't know ,seems people are so out of touch with one another , but we expect for things to somehow , magically get better , to where there's no more hate ,and you don't have to be afraid to go to school, or to the store. I think maybe it's all of our faults as a whole , a world . Because we don't start in our own backyards. And TV and the media have us scared of stereotypes, that really don't exist. All because we don't really know one another . So,maybe we should all try to show others love all year 'round, instead of just savin' it, for our families, once or twice a year on the holidays?I have a brother in Iraq in the Air Force, a sister in law and niece. Haven't seen any of 'em , in probably, 20 years. My dad has passed, and my mom and me haven't talked more than 4 or 5 words in years ... So, i'm 39 now and still spend the holidays with my dogs and my friends, who are all around me and everywhere. So, spread some cheer all around , lots of people have noone , and hate the holidays, so love someone all year 'round, and if you can't be with the one you love , Honey...love the one you're with! PEACE everyone. Marvelous.

Welcome to NoLuckNeeded!!! Come visit Denver sometime!!
We open doors, smile at strangers and are happy all year long...
in fact the first Christmas lights started in Denver, so we really have
holiday spirit also!
My prayers and thanks are with everyone who has family and friends
in the armed forces.
We all have family and friends whom we miss during the Holidays
because they are no longer with us, or too far away..
Celebrate their memory by loving everyone.. Be proud to be
a human this time of year, and look how similar we all are.
Treat strangers how you would like someone to treat your
Grandma or Mom or sister or brother!
Happy Holidays and definately Love the one you are with..
and maybe a few others too

I use to love Holidays spending time with close family but two years ago i moved like over a 1000 miles away from them so Chirstmas is not the same any more, but i do put on the happy face for my kids, by me being a single parent it's hard buying gifts and traveling so i'm sure one day it'll be X-mas again for me.....

I LOVE the Holiday Season! On Black Friday we put up the Christmas lights. Well technically the hubby does that, you can hear him cursing down the block! Then on the following week-end we go to the Christmas Tree Field and cut down the tree we chose the year before, and we pick out next years tree. Did I mention that I shop all year long for this Holiday? (I am one of those people everyone hates at Christmas time because I am all ready done shopping before Christmas Eve!!! LOL!) I wrap gifts all year long, and enjoy it so much. The cooking is such a treat as I work hard all year long and I do not get the opportunity to cook much. Unfortunatly, our children and grandchildren all live in California, and we are in Fla. so we have "adopted" our closest friends children and grandchildren for the holiday and we share the dinner and day with them. They live right next door so we share in the opening of the presents! This is the most fun, what a treat to see their little faces light up! We also help out at the local churchs dinner. We usually end up with the serving and clean up. It is well worth it! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

P.S. I just read Blove"s post and it made me cry, as we lost a nephew to cancer this past year. Thank-you Blove for reminding me to smile through the tears!
