If you have a smoker and smoke your turkey for thanksgiving, like we do, try smoking sweet potatoes. Scrub them, poke a few holes in them to release steam, oil and sprinkle with kosher salt. Smoke at 250 for 2 to 3 hours until done. I split them and brush with a brown sugar/butter glaze. They are always a hit because they are something no one was ever had in place of the old, usual, marshmallow covered yams.
webdeb, i'm liking your recipes now thats something different i usually do the marshmallows (lol) on yams.
web can i smoke them in the oven?
