I am a happily married woman, been with my spouse for 28 years. He is God's gift to my sons and I. Dan never wanted children of his own, in fact he just never wanted children. Enter me with my two sons, ages 5 years and 2 and a half years old. We fell in love and moved in together, just the four of us! Dan never looked back, he just worked and sacrificed and gave, gave, gave. He also put up with the steady appearences of my ass of an x husband. One day one of the boys came to Dan and said "my daddy dosen't have a job or a car or a place to live. So Dan opened his home to the idiot and supported him untill he got a job, a car, and a place to live. He did this for the boys without ever a complaint or a regret. Well we raised those boys up to be great, wonderful men. They now have knowledge of how to live, how to love, and how to be productive citizens and let me just point out to you that they did not learn these lessons or learn how to be a real man from their biological jerk.
Valentines day is a wonderful day around our house. It is one day (of many) that I am able to express my undying love and gratitude to this wonderful man who was everything to everyone in my household and my life as well as the lives of "our" sons. Valentines Day, like NO LUCK, ROCKS!!!

Honestly, I never really cared either way!!! That is until I "luckily" met my gal who really saved my life...Patient and kind, asking nothing from me..(good thing 'cuz I had nothing to give!) except a little of my time. I was 30 years old, living with my parents...runnin around with the same high school losers-the 1's not in jail or dead- No job..really and nearly causin' my parents to divorce(Pa said.."out"..Ma said NO!)...I'll never know what it was that even made her talk to me!! But, she made me,really INSPIRED me, to WANT to be a man...I'd say a better man but I was no man at all...Although we aren't yet married...my vow is just as strong!! NOW I have my/our own place, I have an excellent JOB, and the smile on my dads face when I come to just "visit" brings tears to my mom!! I love her more every day...V-Day is the BEST day o' the year... This year she's getting long-stemmed roses in a gold-colored box...petals collected for her bath...And as always...The only KEY to my heart....

AHHHHH VALENTINES DAY!!! I can honestly say that up until two years ago I absolutly LOVED this day.. See I was born February 14,1973 and my daddy always made it so special for me. When I woke up in the morning I was greeted with Birthday wishes when I returned home from school I was greated with one of those little heart shaped boxes of chocolate candy and a Valentines day card. My whole childhood he did that for me and when I left home and got married and had my four children it continued. I would get a birthday phone call in the morning and a Valentine call in the afternoon..He was not close enough to come over he would mail my cards and candy on different days. He always made me feel like it was truely two different events on the same day. Sadly Daddy passed away on December 21 2005 and I have spent the last two years still waiting for the phone to ring. I miss him something awful..And while my Husband is more than I could ever ask for and has always tried to keep the seperate..There is nothing like a Daddy..So this year I would not say that I hate Valentines Day..Just a little less excited about it is all..
