Good luck to you webdeb!!! I quit a few years back, and it was the best thing I ever did!!! It is hard, but if I can do it, you certainly can. I was a hardcore 3 to 4 pack a day smoker, and I quit, so I know anyone can, you just have to be ready for it!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, I enjoy smoking and if it wasn't for health reason, I'd continue it but I got bronchitis, a lung infection and was diagnosed with COPD this past year so it's definately time to quit. It's mostly mental to control the craving and I quit for 8 months, a few years ago, but fell off the wagon during a stressful time. At 2 packs aday, there's alot of habitual reaching for a cigarette so instead I'm buying a lot of pretzel goldfish to reach for instead. For additional incentive, Hubby and I are going to put the money we spend on ciggies each week away for extra $ for our usual anniversary 2/17 casino trip.

GOOD LUCK WEBDEB , IT IS NOT EASY BUT YOU CAN DO THIS. I DID IT JUST UNDER 2 YEARS AGO WENT COLD TURKEY AND MY BOYFRIEND USED THE PATCHES. I STILL HAVE CRAVINGS BUT I JUST IGNORE THEM SPECIALLY WHILE AM AT A CASINO AND THE PERSON NEXT TO ME IS SMOKING. SOME TIMES I JUST HAVE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER MACHINE..

The casino is a problem. I have a custom, whenever I hit free spins or a bonus on a slot, I light-up for luck. I'm going to order a lot of disposable Hookah pens. They are fruit flavored vaps….no nicotine. I've used them in the past when smoking wasn't allowed (like my daughters new car....until the newness wore off and she needed a smoke ) I'll take them on my casino trip and continue my tradition.

webdeb, Yes, it's hard to be in places that you are used to smoking. I stayed inside more when I first quit because I always lit up outside. I had to quit drinking too because a glass of wine meant a smoke.

Smoking and slots was definitely a hard one webdeb, but gum helped a lot, or a hard candy!
