I've been pretty good here lately. Haven't cashed out anything, but then again, haven't deposited either. It's fun for me to watch the reels roll around, hoping for a bonus round. For the most part, using the freebies that come based on past indulgences. Created a lot of wreckage for myself and slowly but surely digging myself out now.

Been finding a lot of fun in bidding on eBay, shopping online and here locally. This month has been a lot of fun for me, sharing what I didn't spend gambling on my family and others in small, but meaningful ways.

It is easy for a lonely person to quickly replace loneliness with other things. When I was married I bowled 5 nites a week because he never came in. Thanks to the big man upstairs I figured all this out. Now I can't bowl because my shoulder is wore out..LOL I do gamble but there are limited funds for this, online and at the casinos, I just enjoy it. Life is to short not to be happy. When anything you've brought into your life becomes stressful, or not fun, your doing it for the wrong reasons. Help is out here
Thanks TDTAT for a great subject.

LOL Tawnia but you ought to see the wonderful purses and shoes and pearls that I most likely will never wear. At least I have something to show for it. Plus, my therapist tells me that bidding on eBay is actually a form of gambling. How 'bout that!

OK- I want to give up! I'm a push over for these places! I have my ccard # memorized , hide all my deposits from my hubby , and feeling like a HEEL for being suckered with online convenience! smileops:
*Will limit myself to AllSlots - COMPLETELY obsessed with TombRaider Secret of the Sword slot!!* smile Can I lean on anyone when I feel the urge to drop another 50 bucks into a casino - esp. a casino with a BAD rep - which I had been doing!! I've Totally Ridden a Out-of-Control Rollercoaster - ready to STOP! smile

See if there is a gambling addiction program in your local area. It helps if you can talk one on one with a counselor about things that bother you (these are the things which we attempt to mask through gambling). There are group sessions at some of the places. I don't do group well. There are group sessions on the order of AA and group sessions which discuss a particular topic of the day sort of thing.

If you do not gain control over your addiction, what you will do is keep doing it more and more to justify doing it, and losing more and more in an attempt to win back your losses.

I had the deposit and transaction alerts removed from signaling my cell phone because the sounds prompted me to gamble. Now I just get the alerts via email. I play for fun, or, if there's a free chip, I'll use it. But there is no way I am going to let my addiction continue to control my life. It's dangerous and can lead to suicide.

It was very refreshing to see that the firs forum I checked out is for gambling addictions. I think it's great that you provide resources for people who need help, somtimes a little encouragement goes along way.
Thanks, Jennifer
