the best gift i recieved was my kids pulling together( which they fight all the time) cleaning the house and cooking dinner. They asked me a million of questions. but the idea of them pulling together and not fighting for one day. was a great gift to me. but the next day was back to normal.....lol

The best gift I ever received was a Wood Splitter... for xmas. Anyone who cut as much firewood by hand as I did when I was growing up can definately appreciate the greatness of this gift!

the best give I have given is one I'm giving my mom this christmas It's a snow globe you can add your own pic too and record a message on it also. well dad died 1 1/2 years ago so I used video tape footage of my dad to put his voice on the recording along with a picture of him in the globe. So I am giving my mom a little remembrance of my dad.

The best Christmas gift I (we) received was in 1999! Our 23 year old son had been killed in a car accident on November 1st. Thanksgiving was a bummer and Christmas wasn't looking much better that year. I didn't want to decorate, shop, bake or anything! My best friend came over with a new tree and decorations and insisted that it was going up with or without my help. As she progress with the decorating I found myself helping. What a wonderful tree and a fresh new start to our holidays. Then on Christmas Eve, all our grown children were home, they ask my husband and I to please leave the house for a couple of hours. When we got home they had our traditional Prime Rib supper ready, had done some baking and we were able to sit down and continue the tradition of Christmas Eve supper (Prime Rib) which Paul had started when he worked in a restaurant while in college! I had said that this year it would be too "Hard" to prepare it! Following supper we opened gifts and the last two gifts were from our children to us. The first was a beautiful large picture frame with pictures of Paul and our family as he was growing up through the time of the accident. We cried and cried and cried but then we talked and laughed and laughed. The very last gift was a beautiful card telling us that we deserved to get away and spend some time just the two of us. They were picking up the air fare, hotel etc. and we just had to decide where and when. It took us 8 months to decide and go, and we choose to go to Chicago where our oldest lives and talked our two daughters in to meeting us there! Our kids were thinking we needed time for us but what we really needed was time together as a FAMILY, quality time that wasn't a holiday, wedding or funeral. Our 5 days in Chicago will always be a special memory in our hearts as a family.

Thanks TDTAT, we certainly think we have been blessed. Counting the hours until the last arrive this evening! I cook, bake and plan meals for weeks so that we can spend every moment together!!! We learned the hard way that you need to make every minute the best you can when you get together! Now we concentrate on the small things like time together (THE GREATEST GIFT WE CAN GIVE EACH OTHER!!!!)
