About two years ago, some of my coworkers and I decided to pull an April Fool's prank on another co-worker. We spent the whole day convincing her she was going to be fired before the end of the day. Our supervisor was in on it, as were the IT people. We had IT suspend her access to the system near the end of the day, and when she tried to login, an error saying "Security Breach - User Terminated - Contact IT or Department Director IMMEDIATELY" When that happened, she went to the supervisor, who told her to come in, shut the door and sit down. The supervisor told her she was being let go to downsize. When she walked out of the supervisor's office, we all jumped out and yelled April Fool's! She first looked startled, then cracked up laughing because she was one of the biggest pranksters - at one point or another, she'd got us all - and always bragged that no one could ever get a joke over on her.
It was hilarious...but we later got in trouble by the school director because it somehow leaked out and we were sternly lectured on playing with people when it came to their employment. Even so...it was worth it to see how shocked she was to realize it was a joke and several departments - more than 75 people - were in on it!!
