I missed out on the why I am thankful part, so here goes.

Because life is long and hard, being thankful for what one has is important.

OK, back to gambling! LOL

First of all, I am thankful that we are all given the opportunity to voice our thanks on such a great forum.....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
On a more serious note, Here is what I am thankful for....
I am thankful that I can spend time with people that I care about., and how much I have been blessed with. I am thankful that God loved us so much that he gave his only son so that all our sins would be forgiven. During this season, we should try to do the same by giving to those who are less fortunate than we are.
To me, Thanksgiving is a time that we should express our gratitude to our Lord for all his blessings, not only at Thanksgiving.... but everyday.
Although I am thankful for so many things the Lord has blessed me with, there are a few that I hold dear to my heart. 1) I am thankful that the Lord has allowed me to wake each morning so that I may enjoy that the day and all the days before. 2) I am thankful for the days that do not go exactly as I planned or the demanding days that are so busy that I feel they will never allow me resting time, because if everyday were perfect, I would not ever be able to really grow to appreciate those special, simple days that I enjoy sharing with my family. I am also thankful for being blessed with such a close, supportive, and caring mother and father-in-law. Because of them, my husband and all his 9 brothers grew up to be great role-models with strong family values that they instill on their own children. They raised my husband be a wonderful father and a man I am very proud to call my husband. Because of my mother and father-in-law, our sons, my nieces, and my nephews will grow up around strong, caring, very strict, but supportive aunts and uncles. And last but not least, I am thankful for those surprises in life that we sometimes refer to as “blessings in disguise”. They are unexpected but none the less, they are a surprise. Mine was becoming a grandmother to a beautiful baby boy. God has blessed me with a love for my grandson that, until I became a grandmother, I wouldn’t know what that truly felt like.
While Thanksgiving is a day it give thanks, we should not limit our gratitude to God on just that one day. Everyday should be a day of thanks for all that God has done for us.

Sooo many things to be thankful for---
healthy, happy family smile and all the fixings that go along with living in the most priviledged country on the planet !! smileops:
I know I ought to be happy for all that I've been blessed with, but it always makes me sad, because I start thinking about all the poor souls who have so little to be thankful for ... hmmm - does that make sense ? smile

to all at NLN thank you for sharing and

have a happy and safe Thanksgiving smile

For the first time in three years, I am going to have Thanksgiving with my son. He is in the Marines and has been in either bootcamp or Japan for the last three years. This is what I am thankful for along with my wonderful significant other, my daughter and son-in-law and my two wonderful grandchildren. What a wonderful life!!!!!!!!!

Well I am thankful for oh so much this year. My 8 children, all healthy and almost out on their own (got 2 left at home-my menopause surprise, I may be senile b4 they leave, lol).
My surviving thyroid cancer.
Another grandbaby, only a mile away from me(I have 3, 2 being, sigh, older than my last 2). Love being a grandma(though just hate the whole old thing). Its all the good parts of having kids and no bad parts. Too much fun.
All in all, I have been through so much, thinking I would never take any more, yet always managing to, lol. but now, everything so good, I keep pinching myself to make sure its not a dream
To all, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
A sense of inner freedom is a powerful thing. Sometimes just realizing that you are, in fact, in control of your life and the choices you make is all the freedom you need!

A HAPPY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU FROM ALL OF ME!!

I am in the process of building a boat which I will name THE MAYDAY, and me and my Pilgrim Sisters will be sailing out soon to join you all in America.

This comes from a persecuted country where:
You can be sacked or expelled from school for wearing a crucifix
Christmas should now be called Wintertime
You can legally drive a car whilst wearing headgear which obscures 80%of your vision

Enough, Big Brother is watching me!
BACK TO THE SUBJECT

I am thankful for my home, my family, my food, my warm fire, and my cosy bed. Millions of people don't even have those comforts.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!
