Well, my intentions on putting up the tree didn't go so well. Every year my husband grumbles and complains about having to haul the big, heavy, artificial tree from the basement up to the second floor where we display it. He is a big, strong guy...so I always thought he was just being a big baby about it. I mean, all he has to do is bring it up and put 3 pieces together. I'm the one who arranges all the branches, brings up all the ornaments, and decorates it. So, this year, since he is out of town until Friday, I was determined to get the tree up myself. Long story short...that b*tch of a tree is HEAVY, even though it is in 3 pieces. (I may have a broken rib now haha) Two hours later, the "tree" was still sitting in a dusty heap upstairs (at least I managed to haul it up two flights or stairs) because I cannot figure out how to get the darn thing put together! Spent time trying on my own, then watching youtube tutorials...to no avail. Now, no tree...just a sore back and a lot of sneezing from the dust lol. I may have to enlist in some help and then take all the credit for myself! smile Happy Holidays!!

We did ours last night. It's only the second year with this tree. Yup, I hear ya!!!!!! Seems so simple....not!!!!! And, I have lived in the same 3 family home my entire life. Now I understand and try to get hubby to also, about never go up or downstairs empty handed. I went upstairs to my mom's old apt (still unoccupied) and found winter coats I forgot I had. That is why I hate putting things up there for storage. Now I have to dig to find the ornaments. Though I suggested we leave the tree empty (just lights) because we have kitties. Hubby wasn't happy with that because we bought sooooo many new decorations last year for the new tree. Ahhhhh Christmas!!!!!!
