Doing Christmas Brunch for my oldest daughter and her family. It's easier (and cheaper) to do Brunch. Plus you don't have to have company all day long. Then, if you got chocolates for a gift, you can eat them and pass out.

I hope the first thing I will be doing is shoveling a freshly fallen snow! Then I will be madly snapping pictures of all of my loved ones opening their gifts! Have a grand nephew here this year who is just the perfect age for believing in all the wonderous Christmas things! Children are such a joy, but at this time of year especially. After gifts, and the ensuing assembling (groan!) my sister, my niece, and I will whip up brunch and put the finishing touch on the dinner we will be serving to our family later. After brunch it is off to the soup kitchen to serve roughly two hundred, possibly more this year, and after dinner we will watch the attendees open their gifts, everyone gets to pick a gift from under the tree when they come in for diner. After clean up we will return home to finish baking the pies and the turkey, and all the trimmings. Sitting down to supper around 6. It will be lovely to see family members again, many of which we've not seen since the fourth of July family reunion. I love Christmas, it is just the best time of year! What could be better than the look of wonder on a childs face! Christmas is very, very special! Midnight mass, followed by 3 to 4 hours sleep, then up to start the turkey, shovel the snow, play photographer, vidiographer, cooking, serving, cleaning, cooking some more, dining, cleaning again, all amid laughter, Christmas carols, and so much love! Surely this is the very best day of the year!
Merry Christmas everyone! Stay safe and enjoy!
