i got a question

if 7-11 is open 24 hours why are there locks on the doors?

Where I lived before, they would lock the doors when they used the
restroom or were stocking stuff in the freezer.
They would put up a sign that was written on cardboard, saying that
they were closed for a few minutes.

I think sometimes... maybe in some places, they could be closed for the day?
Never saw that before, but I know that most are 7-11's are individually
owned and operated... so, maybe it could be at the owner/operator's
discretion..?
