Where we live a few of us got together and started a free cycle for our county..You post what you want to get rid of to see if someone else might want it etc etc. It saves the landfills by not just tossing it into the trash. Goes back to the old saying "one mans trash is another man's treasures". We are also very earth friendly in our home. With being in a severe drought we have learned even more to conserve water. We do not turn on our lights during the day we open up all the curtains and let the sun light in. TV is only on in the evening and then it is only on for about 2 hours before bed. We recylce everything thats possible including ink cartridges, cell phones etc. Have 4 kids whose kids whose kids kids have to live on this earth.. Need to do as much as we can to help save it!!

I stopped buying cleaning products with harsh chemicals, instead, I buy Green cleaning products and use a lot of vinegar and baking soda solutions. And we just replaced all our light bulbs with the energy efficient spiral ones. Also, we carpool at my job, and set our home air to 69 degrees, I live in Florida and today it is in the 90's and it is nice and cool inside, but you have to close the curtains or blinds to keep the sun out.

yes, that is disturbing.. some say it is obscene that we ship
water from the other side of the world...
it embarrassed me enough to stop drinking FIJI water and start
drinking "generic" costco water (in BIG BOTTLES)

When I took my Enviromental Science Course last block of classes I discovered, ( hope this doese not keep you from drinking Bottled water)In bottled water there were more contaminants than in city tap water, would you think it, but it is true, I was surprised too!

i have a few but probably have been mentioned,
please please car poole when ever possible, plan ahead; this makes for less trips to and from.
turn off any electricity when not using... even unplug most appliances we don't use very often.
recyle, .... everywhere, not just at home, ask on your job, at school or other places.
plant and grow things... give back to the earth.
