Most definitely The Exorcist. I was 17 at the time, and I remember queuing for 3 days running before I saw it. Didn't scare me whilst I was watching, but the nightmares after!! For months after I went to bed wearing a crucifix. It didn't help that the character's middle name was the same as mine.
The supporting programme (which lasted about an hour) was a naked male and a naked female dancing, pretty risque at the time.

the Ring is great, the Japanese version is even better!! BUT NO. 1 FOR ME IS THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT....almost had a psychotic episode of that, it was intelligent, frightening in its combination of daily life and strange time mechanisms..... it really makes your head spinning and spinning!!!

The Blair Witch Project, I watched this about 3 in the morning in the dark by myself and My house was surrounded by woods. When the movie was over I took It out of the VCR and threw it out the door. LOL Scared the SH*T out of me.

Yeah the ring was quite scary. The first one at least. The second wasnt that good. And I believe the Japanese version is better that the American. I havent seen the whole Japanese version but I think I would recommend that one rather than the American. Both are scary but the Japanese is even more scary
