robsspot3131, Well bless your heart. Some of best food I have ever eaten was cooked by men and it pains me to say that! smile But you can post any message to enter the contest. I don't really subscribe to whole the male female thing as I love to fish and hate to shop.

Anyone who can read can cook and reading is probably not even required to throw a steak on a grill or make an omelette or bake a potato and add some toppings. If you really want to impress a lady then cook her something delicious. I am rather lazy but I suppose if my enthusiasm for eating was less then I would trust other people to make all my food.

tdtat, it's sounds like you love cooking so do I, but I don't eat duck(lol), but I do like to fish an shop. You are such a sweet heart. You guy's have some really good recipes out here. I love seeing all you guy's posts. Thanks for another contest. P.S. I made your deviled eggs recipe for thanksgiving guess what I only got 2(lol), that was my fault I should of put me some up. Christmas I'm gonna make some more an will put me some up. (lol) smile

I do not know if I love to cook so much as I love to eat! Maybe it's both. smile

I am so glad the deviled eggs were a hit for you! I have never cared for mayo, especially the smell, so I prefer the loaded deviled eggs to the traditional kind. I made the loaded eggs for Thanksgiving as well but I ate an unreasonable amount of them myself. I learned to cook extra too! smile smile

The Christmas cookies are probably my favorite part of Christmas! My aunt makes all the cookies and bars and they are so delicious. I especially love spritz with icing and the Russian tea balls (also called Mexican wedding cookies). smile

These days as far as liquid lunches go I prefer the smoothie shack. smile

But I have an uncle who makes his own beer with his buddies a few times a year. They pick out their own recipes from some beer making company and then the company bottles it for them in the big brown bottles that are probably close to a liter. They swear the price ends up being comparable to commercial beer prices. Probably a fun outing for people who love beer.

That makes me think of the yummy pumpkin pie I had on Thanksgiving. Someone in the family made a few pies using my grandmother's recipe and they were spectacular. Her recipe is not as sweet as most of the commercial pumpkin pies these days and you could almost eat it for breakfast. Maybe I will try to hunt down the recipe to post. She also made a great pecan pie which is also a family favorite for the holidays.

We made this Fireball Pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and it WOWED the family , it was delicious and the kids had a small piece as well

2 large eggs, room temperature
1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin
1 cup half-and-half cream
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons Fireball cinnamon whiskey
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pastry for single-crust pie (9 inches)
Sweetened whipped cream and cinnamon, optional
Preheat oven to 425° In a large bowl, combine the first 8 ingredients; beat until smooth. Line a 9-in. pie plate with pastry; trim and flute edges. Pour filling into crust.
Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°. Bake 45-50 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and top of pie is set (cover edges with foil during the last 15 minutes to prevent overbrowning if necessary). Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. Refrigerate overnight or until set.
If desired, serve with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. We made fresh whipped cream and added Fireball instead of vanilla to the whipping cream , it was awesome
