OK TDTAT, here is my take on the Kentucky Derby. Big Brown, Pyro and Gayego - top three. Throw out Pyro's last race - ran like a pig.
Denis of Cork is a shot due to the fact he is a good horse and his jockey (Calvin Borel) rode Street Sense last year in the Derby and the Breeder's Cup and won and Calvin is the best rail rider around.
Eight Belles is the swamy angle. She is a filly running against the boys - the first filly to run in a long time in the Derby. Last year's Belmont was won by Rags to Riches, also a filly. And she drew post position 8. Got all the angles. And she has all the potential to win.
Like I said, this is my take. But it's a horse race, anything can happen. This is the first Triple Crown in a long time that doesn't have a "Big Horse" coming in the likes of Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex, Street Sense and Curlin.
Love the horses.
