I love my mother and I am so thankful to have a mother like mine I am 1 of 5 children and I try to be a mother just like my mother. I do have some sad news today I was in court all day long trying to get custody of the 15 yr old girl I have been caring for the past few months, well I was not granted custody at this time because they feel she is better off in the Mentor home she is in right now due to all of her diabilities and emotional problems of course I think they are wrong and I know I can handle it I have a son who is autistic and he is now a mainstreamed honor student in 6th grade, of course this really upsets me but they said after a month or so they do say we are the family they do want for this beautiful girl to be in. I am very proud to be a mother of my 5 awesome and beautiful children and I do hope and pray that I will also have this child in my life.... I owe my MOTHER everything for raising me and teaching me the ways I live by now, and GOD BLESS TO ALL MOTHERS..

Nettelarr that is awesome! I'm so proud of you for giving of yourself in such a manner. I'm sure you are a great Mother and this girl will be given a wonderful gift if she is allowed to live as part of your family. I'm quite interested in your Austistic son! We have a grandson who is bi-polar, adhd, od, and has a seizure disorder. He is currently in residential care working through a treatment program that is teaching him how to redirect his emotions in a positive manner. He's only 11 and it has been a real trial for all of us to have him so far away but he is improving and that is what we worked so hard to get for him! Our daughter, Jen is also a wonderful, patient and loving mom. Husband left a year and a half ago leaving her with five children and absolutely no money! He had spent 15 months in Iraq and came back took full control of the money, paid no bills what so ever and wanted nothing to do with the kids or the responsibility of being a spouse or father. She is now working full time, has purchased a vehicle with cash and has all the bills he left behind paid for. They currently are living with us so she would have a chance to get a foundation built for her and her children for the future. We are blest to be able to have some of our grandchildren living with us and enjoy every moment! You are in our prayers that you will soon have custody!!!

barbque73 Thank you

kthunker, THANK YOU, yes my son is 11 yrs old was diagnosed when he was almost 3, he also is ADHD ODD, he can be a handful at times and you sure need PATIENCE, and now he is about to be 12 on the 15th and that teenage attitude is kicking in but we are so proud of how far he has come, he wants to be a therapist when he grows up and I tell him that would be an awesome thing because he knows whats its like.. Now with Jo this girl she is wonderful, she does had alot of problems but I am willing and ready to help her take them on and so is Larry, all she need is love and to know she is safe and loved and that she has us backing her and helping her all the way with all the therapy she needs. It was very devastating yesterday to hear not yet, but I know, I pray that I will get her home real soon, she has been gone since the 4th, but I talk with her every night, and reassure her we are still here for her and we always will be. I have to say Wow about your daughter with 5 children and being single and doing what she is doing because I know how hard it is with 2 parents, and I will also say you are wonderful parents because you are helping her get herself steadied... GOD BLESS YOU TWO..

If you or your wife ever want to talk pm me!!!

Hi Everyone!!

I just wanted to tell all of you that I think I have the most wonderful MOTHER in the world. I know she learned from Grandma that family is most important but she has always showed us that it really is. She is our rock, always there when we were young and still continues to this day. When my brother was killed in a car accident, it was our mother who stayed strong to help the rest of us kids deal with it also. It is our mother who is there for us day in and day out, even though we are all grown now. If one of us needs her, she is there with a smile on her face ready to help in whatever way it is needed (watching our kids, helping clean or just sharing a weekend).
When I was left with 5 children and a ton of bills it was my mother that suggested that we move in with them so that I could get back on my feet. It was my mother that was there during the times my son (with multiple problems) needed to be hospitalized. It was my mother that was with me the day he went into residential care and it is my mother who travels with me every two weeks to spend a weekend with him. It is my mother who watches my kids after the normal babysitting hours end when I have a late shift. It is my mother who usually has supper ready, laundry done and homework started when I come home from work each night. All this is done with a smile on her face and words of encouragement. Thanks Mom!!!
It is because of this marvelous Mother that I am building a strong base for myself and my children for the future. Each day we are getting closer to being in a position of becoming independent again. Again Thanks Mom!!!
I smile love you dearly and appreciate all you do for the kids and me.

I would love to win this contest, I don't have a lot of extra money for fun things! Thanks TDTAT for the opportunity to share about my mom!!

Let me tell you about my mom:0)
Mom gave us one of the most precious gifts a Mom could ever give, she taught us to stop and smell the flowers. Mom showed us the way to really see the things around us. She used to pile us all in the car and we would go for long rides just to get lost so we could then find our way home again without maps or directions. Along the way Mom would point out things most people would miss in their hurry to get some where. She took great delight in the smallest of things, a busy bee, the shape of a tree and it's limbs, the way the sun struck this or that just so. Life was always full of wonder when you were with mom, because she made it so.
Mom moved on 14 years ago, and I miss her every day. I need only to look at the closest flower, or to hear a childs laughter and Mom is right here with me. I tried to pass this precious gift on to my children. and it must have worked as now I see them teaching their own children to stop and smell the flowers.
