Freddy JacksonThis intriguing photo, taken in 1919, was first published in 1975 by Sir Victor Goddard, a retired R.A.F. officer. The photo is a group portrait of Goddard's squadron, which had served in World War I aboard the HMS Daedalus. An extra ghostly face appears in the photo. In back of the airman positioned on the top row, fourth from the left, can clearly be seen the face of another man. It is said to be the face of Freddy Jackson, an air mechanic who had been accidentally killed by an airplane propeller two days earlier. His funeral had taken place on the day this photograph was snapped. Members of the squadron easily recognized the face as Jackson's. It has been suggested that Jackson, unaware of his death, decided to show up for the group photo.
Interesting side note: In 1935, Sir Victor Goddard, now a Wing Commander, had another brush with the unexplained. While on a flight from Edinburgh, Scotland to his home base in Andover, England, he encountered a strange storm that seemed to transport him through time into the future. You can read more about his experience in the article "Time Travelers" under the section "Flight Into the Future."

There's a bridge called "Covert's Crossing" or "Covert's Bridge" up in New Castle. A young couple had gotten married on Halloween. Around midnight, they were riding in a horse drawn carriage across the bridge at the same time a car was. The bridge was only one lane, so by the time they saw each other it was too late. Story has it that they crashed and the hubcap of the car flew off, decapitating the bride. The police never found her head or the body of the groom. Its been said that if you sit on the bridge on Halloween night around midnight, you can see the headless bride standing on some rocks in the river. However they don't know if she is looking for her head or her lost love.

There was this couple in Scotland who had just moved into an old castle. When they moved in, they decided to empty out the wine cellar and found this large barrel of brandy. They tried moving it and even got a few friends around to help, but they couldn't budge it. In the end, they decided to have a housewarming party and give glasses of brandy out to empty the barrel and make it easier to move. A few days after the party, they went into the cellar and tried to move the barrel again. It still wouldn't move. The husband went to get his saw in order to cut it into smaller pieces and in turns they cut off the top of the barrel. Inside was a dead body and they had drank the brandy that had preserved it.

5 Most Haunted Places in the USA

Do you believe in ghosts? Boo, Boo. No? Well you should. Let me take you on scary tour that will bring your hair up or maybe crawl through your skin with unexplained phenomenon and stories, facts. Here it comes, are you ready?

So, first of all what is a ghost exactly? Is it these little creatures that we see in the movies, passing through the walls and your body; would not like that! Well the answer to that question is not easy. For some people, ghosts are a supernatural power, a paranormal phenomenon. People that have seen a ghost or ghost will tell you that it is not an alien or an UFO. They are spooky and they can make your skin scrawl to the bone. But are these little creatures?

As a death point of view, the general belief is that when a person dies, the soul or the mind leaves the body and is lifted up to a higher and untouchable universe to follow a path to purification and redemption to enter Heaven or Hell (depending of religious believes and esoteric doctrines). Well, a large bunch of experts have said that some of these souls got lost in the way or did not achieve their destination, that they are stuck in between two worlds! That is not fun! In some way they are still attached to our physical planet. Ghosts can be anywhere, because they are balls of energy and you can capture them with your camera or a video camera if you dare to visit a haunted place, boooo. They can also be mists known as ectoplasm that floats around as a concentrated vapour. For the souls that are stuck between these two worlds; it is said it's because the way they died or the way they were when they died.

If one is ready to leave and know is at piece, then the person is ready to begin his or her journey to the hereafter and rest in piece, but if it was sudden, when some souls are not ready to move on and just want to hang out in our physical world, well they just want to stay here a little longer, after all this world is not so bad! But another interesting factor is that some ghosts claim they still have a mission here on earth and are not ready at all to move on, so they'll come and haunt our little hotels or mansions and finish their mission and what they tried to accomplish with their lives or people.

So are you ready now for the real chill? Here are the 5 most haunted places in America.

1. Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee

2. Bachelor's Grove, near Midlothian, Illinois

3. Gettysburg Battlefield, in southern Pennsylvania

4. Lemp Mansion Located in St. Louis, Missouri.

5. Dudleytown in northwestern Connecticut

I got up, cut all my hair off, from 12 to about 4 inches long, i looked in the mirror and thought to my self, you have officially gone mad! and you look horribly hidious....

Close to Halloween, a few years back, my sister-in-law had just gotten back from Kuwait. Two key factors of this stories...my sister-in-law is very tall, and my husband is afraid of clowns. Well, where I lived at the time we had a big bay window in our living room, which I closed the durtains every night at right about dark. Well, I had my si-in-law come down just about the time I closed the curtains and asked her to knock on the window. When she did, I acted surprised and asked my husband to see who could be knocking on the window like that. Well, when he looked out ...there stood the tallest clown he had ever seen in his life!!! It was great!!! Good thing I was there to protect him smile TRICK or treat!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!

Mine is a true story! Oooh!

One scary hallowween night when I was eleven, I was bringing my 2 little cousins Trick or Treating. The night was uneventful and kind of ordinary for Hallowween except for one thing. I will always remember that night because of that one thing happening. At the last door we went too, the kids rang the doorbell, a man approximately the age of 25 years answered and the kids said Trick or Treat. He gave them candy but he also did one other thing. OOH! AAH! He asked me out on a date!! It was the first time I had ever been asked! I said no and being a virgin at the time I hurried and hustled my two young cousins home practically shaking in my boots!! Spooky huh!! I later found out that he had just recently just made a young teenager pregnant!! I was definitely spooked!

Thanks for letting me share. Have a great Hallowween!!
