As a mom of a Marine in Iraq, I thank all of you for your support. My dad was in the Navy during WWII and my son's grandfather was a Marine during WWII also. So to all past and present soldiers, THANK YOU!!!

My father died when I was 9 - he was a vet. My step-father served 2 tours in Veitnam - he's alive and kickin'..........we have always celebrated MD in our family......gone to cemeteries......cooked out......I mean, that's what its all about. Sit back, have a brat and a beer and enjoy the day. Pray our soldiers come back SOON and in one piece. I know this is not a political forum so I will keep those opinions to myself!! Have a great day!

THANX rae, My grandfather, father and husband has fought for our country!!!! My husband was in Iraq in 91. I pray for the quick & safe return for all of our men and women.

Hello, first of all thankyou to noluckneeded for the contest. 
My Dad did his time in Germany. Every year b4 he died we had all the family together for a cookout at Memorial Day. He had seven kids with spouses and children, lol. So it was a blast! We all brought something to eat or drink and we had plenty of games. Plus my two sisters have horses. For those of city folk it's a big treat!
Well b4 he died he wanted us all to promise that we would keep this tradition and show up every year. I have attended every year without fail since then.
He had the big traditional military funeral, and I thought it was beautiful.

My kids and me are going to put flowers on my mom and husband grave. Than we will talk about the good times when they were still with us. Also we are going to BBQ and swim. account #1000031421

gambling buddy, he served in WWII. I am in such awe at the
things he did in the War. He went to every theater during that time.
He was also in Japan, 2 days after the bomb.
The VA says that doesn't have anything to do with the man being
covered in skin cancer. He is upset that our men are in Iraq. I NOW GET IT...He has explained it loud and clear.
