Gift cards are the way to go! It can be used for whatever they want, and you don't have to worry about the lines and the crowds because most of them can be purchased online or at bigger retail stores....

This is also a good time of year to take advantage of deals such as the one offered at Amazon.com where they give you $30 off your purchase if you open a charge account (No purchase necessary) Last year, I took advantage of a similar deal from PayPal. After you have received your purchases, what I do is then cancel the accounts so as not to be tempted to charge anything. smile

I am the worst Christmas shopper ever...this year I was a little better and have about 1/2 the people I shop for covered...

Anyways, there is nothing better than watching my niece open gifts, and therefore, I LOVE shopping for her. So my only advice is have fun!! And if that fails, open a bottle of wine...LOL

I shop online for most of my shopping. I do the same thing as Shirlsplay. I use a site called My Points. You get points for buying online. There are many other ways to earn points there too. I have redeemed points for gift cards many times over the years. smile

Oh I hope you get to spend Christmas with them . I understand my first child was a premie she weighed 3.5 pounds when she was born . I remember looking at her with my nose pressed to the incubator. But joyfully she was home in a month. Prayers and good thoughts to you and yours this Christmas

I make breakfast for family who come over Christmas morning to open gifts. I make a big breakfast casserole with eggs, cheese, sausage, hash browns and bacon. I put it all together the night before and put it in the fridge. I pop it in the oven while we're opening gifts and I can be with everyone instead of being in the kitchen putting it together. Put in a pan of Grand biscuits the last 10 minutes and serve it with salsa and I have a happy family and a happy cook. It actually turns out better after sitting all night than baking right away. There are lots of recipes online for different variations.

samsarah1, Yes, they have to let you stay on Christmas! My sister was born 3 months premature! She weighed less than a kilo. Now she is almost 22 years old and wonderful! smile

Well I can't give much advice on shopping I was hurt in a car accident and now disabled. My husband is also disabled so we don't do Christmas presents our income pretty much pays the bills. Thank god we don't have grandchildren and our children are grown up enough to understand. But we do want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. smile smile

My best holiday advice is shop all year, then relax while everyone else is running around in crowded stores. smile
