My friend's house burned down yesterday. She and her husband escaped with only the clothes on their backs. Although they have insurance, it's still a devastating loss. I am more thankful for everything and everyone today. smile


So sorry about your friends house but am happy they made it out alive. Most things can be replaced but not a life.

I live with my boyfriend (lived together 5 years Dec. 1) and his 92 year old father. We had a home that was just blocks away from my grandchildren. Last year, in October, we had to leave our house and since then, we have been unable to find another place, so we have moved around to different towns, staying with various relatives. My granddaughter turned 11 years old this year and we are very, very close. She used to spend every weekend with me. I miss her so so much! Sometimes, I feel really sad because we hardly ever see each other.

Right now, we are staying in a motel that has monthly rates, until we do find a permanent place to live. We are over an hour away from my grandchildren, but before we found this place, we were 6 hours away. It is very close quarters, but we are managing. The temperature here today (Friday) dropped below freezing and there was strong winds blowing wet snow all over as it came down. Today, I am VERY grateful that we have a warm, dry place to stay. I know first hand what it is like to be without it.

I am on the Thanksgiving tour , 10 days , 3 houses , 8 grandchildren . LOL Thankful to be able to see them this year!!
