Doing well on New Year's resolution, sure is tough at times. Hubby isn't having cravings as bad as me, but he is having terrible insomnia/anxiety at night which he's never had before. He won't take meds because he's afraid he'll get addicted to them
It's hard to watch, hopefully will pass soon. 12 days no cigs.
CONGRATULATIONS kaymast!! WTG!

Luckyma, you've just filled me up with all kinds of encouragement to believe maybe I can actually succeed in taking that first step! It's one I've never had to make myself take... I started regularly smoking when I was 15 and I just turned 31, pregnancy made me super sick if I smelled the faintest hint of smoke but I ignorantly lit back up all 3 times :-/ I'm not a real heavy smoker, especially since I quit drinking about 3 years ago, but a pack typically lasts me 2-4 days, once it was 6 days! Lol! Keep up your awesome streak, get it girl!!!

So glad to hear something I said might have helped encourage you SadieMadie!!! I don't like to say anything about people quitting smoking too often because I know people will quit in their own time, when they are ready. But I do like to encourage people when they suggest they would like to quit!!! With the attitude you have now, I can't believe you won't succeed! Good luck girl!!

I know you can I smoked for yrs and yrs . Finally quit , it was hard I ate dozens of bags of lifesavers but I did it, 8 yrs later still clean. Don't get down on yourself if you slip up.Just start again , Don't give yourself a quilt trip . Just start again !

Wishing everyone whose New Year's Resolution is to quit the nicotine habit the best of luck!!!! I am so happy for you that you are ready to try. That is all you have to do, is try, and take it a day at a time. Like lundelmar, I smoked from the age of 11 until I was 52 and have been smokefree for 8 years.

You can do it! It's hard, really hard, but you can do it!
luna is right... don't give up if you slip up. The longer you can go without a cig the worse they start to taste and smell and it's easier not to start again. If you have to slip up make sure you don't have your regular brand around. If you cheat make sure it is not with your regular brand, that way it will taste weird and different and you won't want another.
