valentines day is a very special day, it was the day my grandparents got married, TWICE!! they divorced after 20 plus years together, then a few years later they did it again, got remarried on valentines day. that makes valentines day a really special day to me and my family

I am a born romantic, and happily so is my sweetheart of 34 years, my husband.Valentines Day is a special day for us and we celebrate our love by taking a long trip down memory lane, usually over a nice cozy dinner, and generally in front of a fire in one of our favorite restaurants. The trips down memory lane are lovely and only grow better as they age. You start with the day you first lay eyes upon one another and head forward from there. I guarantee that by the time you have been together as long as we have you will laugh, shed a few tears, then laugh some more, and best of all, be reminded just why you are crazy in love with your wonderful partner. Memory lane can be a wonderful temporary vacation spot for romantics as it is navigated with love and respect. Sprinkle in tremendous amounts of laughter, and you have a heady natural aphrodisiac for later at home!
For those of you who are sans partners this year for what ever reason, Valentines Day can be a really nice day to grab some flowers and go spend an hour or two with your parents or grand parents, or barring any living relatives, ANY couple that you know who have been together long enough not to be bothered by unexpected company. Or how about a bouquet of flowers and a trip to the local old folks home to brighten the day of any lonely older lady or gentleman. I bet if you asked at the nurses station who receives the least amount of company they would happily tell you! Imagine the shine you could put in the eye of some wonderful, lonesome, older person with just an hour of your time. I love geriatrics! They are so smart, they have the most wonderful stories to tell and they love to tell them. I am warming up to this idea in a big way. Maybe my sweetheart and I will alter our plans this year to include a trip to a convalescent home near us!

I like to get home from work,then buy 2dozen roses and go to my girlfriends but on the way hand 1 rose to any female who is not smiling or seems bummed

depends on the year...I have a love hate relationship with valentines Day
