My favorites came from Mark Twain but at the moment i cannot think of one of them- however- I do remember hearing about Winston Churchhill nand Lady Astor's caustisc remrks to each other in the house of Lords. They HATED each other and bickered constantly. Winston felt that lady Astor (an american) Had no right to be in the house of Lords to begin with and she could do nothing right as far as he was concerned. So here are a couple of quotes from them
LAdy Astor:" Sir! If you were my husband I would poison your coffee!"
Winston :" Madam. were you my wife I would drink it!!"
Lady Astor was giving a speach in the house of Lords on Agriculture. Winston could not bear it
Winston: "Madam you do not even know the number of toes on a pigs foot!"
Lady Astor: "Well sir, why don't you remove your little shoosies and show us!"
I think they must have brought a great deal of hilarity to the house of Lords and I also believe they secretly admired each other if only over their quick thinking caustic wit!
